Ipswich Town are preparing for life back in the Championship after one campaign in the Premier League.
The Tractor Boys dominated the Championship in 2023/24, somewhat surprisingly securing back-to-back promotions to the top flight.
Ipswich Town were then swiftly relegated, and there are expected to be a few changes at the club this summer.
Manager Kieran McKenna is linked to Brentford after they lost long-time boss Thomas Frank to Tottenham Hotspur this week.
Meanwhile, Liam Delap has left to join Chelsea for what is understood to be a £30m transfer fee.
With Delap out the door, Ipswich are in the market for a new striker, but one of their targets is not faring well at all.
Ipswich Town target Emmanuel Latte Lath struggling for goals
Emmanuel Latte Lath left Middlesbrough in the 2025 January transfer window, linking up with Atlanta United in the MLS.
Boro earned £22.5m for Latte Lath, who was prolific in the second tier prior to his move to North America.
In 29 Championship matches this past season, he scored 11 and assisted three for the Teessiders.
The campaign before saw the Ivorian find the back of the net 16 times and assist one.
However, after a positive start at Atlanta with five goals in his first six MLS appearances, the ex-Boro man has now failed to score in his last 11 matches, including a 4-0 defeat to New York City on June 13 when he came off the bench.
Despite his recent woes, we understand that after previous links last summer and in January, Ipswich are showing interest in Latte Lath once more this summer.
Ipswich star’s uncertain future ahead of investment
While Delap has already left, another Ipswich forward is said to be facing an uncertain future.
Our transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, has suggested that Ali Al-Hamadi may not have ‘much of a future’ amid the club’s plans to invest up front.
He told us last week: “I’m not sure Al-Hamadi has much of a future there given how much we know that Ipswich are looking to invest in new strikers, but that depends on how many strikers Kieran McKenna wants.”
Al-Hamadi left Ipswich on loan in January after failing to score in 11 Premier League appearances, netting twice for Stoke City in 15 Championship ties.
