Only 4 More Saturdays Until Tennessee Football Returns π The Wait Is Almost Over! Click The Link For The Latest Vols Countdown Update! #GBO
The countdown is officially getting serious. Tennessee football is just four Saturdays away from returning to Neyland Stadium, and the excitement surrounding the Vols is already building across Knoxville and beyond.
After a long offseason of speculation, recruiting news, preseason predictions and plenty of debate among college football fans, the wait is almost over. Rocky Top is about to be rocking again.
According to the University of Tennessee, the Vols will open their 2026 season on Saturday, September 5, against Furman at Neyland Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network+/ESPN+.
That means the countdown isn’t just hype anymore β there is a real date circled on the calendar.
π FOUR MORE SATURDAYS
Think about it.
Four more Saturdays.
Four more weekends of waiting.
Four more weeks before the orange and white take over Neyland.
Four more weeks before the familiar sound of Tennessee football fills the stadium again.
For Vol fans, Saturdays in the fall are more than just football games. They are traditions. They are tailgates, orange jerseys, family gatherings, packed stadiums, βRocky Top,β and the unmistakable energy that comes with Tennessee football.
And this season has plenty of reasons for fans to be excited.
Tennessee enters its 130th football season, beginning with Furman before traveling to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech on September 12. The Vols will then return home to face Kennesaw State on September 19 before opening SEC play against Texas on September 26.
That schedule alone gives Tennessee fans plenty to talk about.
π₯ THEN THE SEC SHOWDOWN BEGINS
The September 26 matchup against Texas could become one of the early highlights of the season.
Tennessee will host Texas at Neyland Stadium at noon ET, with the game scheduled for ABC or ESPN. It will be the first regular-season meeting between the two programs; their previous three meetings took place in the Cotton Bowl.
And that’s only the beginning.
The Vols will also host Auburn, travel to Arkansas, welcome Alabama to Knoxville, travel to South Carolina, host Kentucky, travel to Texas A&M, host LSU and finish the regular season against Vanderbilt in Nashville.
In other words, Tennessee fans won’t have to wait long for the biggest tests.
But before all of that happens, there is one thing everyone is watching:
September 5.
ποΈ NEYLAND STADIUM IS WAITING
There is something different about seeing Neyland Stadium full on a Saturday afternoon.
The orange.
The checkerboard.
The roar of more than 100,000 fans.
The Vol Walk.
The band.
The flags.
The fight song.
And then the moment the team runs onto the field.
Tennessee Athletics says the program is carrying a streak of 27 consecutive home sellouts into the 2026 campaign, showing just how strong the demand remains among Vol fans.
The excitement is already showing. Tennessee recently announced that four home games are sold out, with limited tickets remaining for the Furman, Kentucky and LSU games.
That tells you everything you need to know.
Vol Nation is ready.
π THE QUESTION EVERYONE IS ASKING
Can Tennessee turn the offseason excitement into results on the field?
Head coach Josh Heupel enters another season looking to keep Tennessee among the SEC’s most competitive programs. The team has spent the offseason preparing, developing players and building toward the opening game.
The annual Orange & White Game in April gave fans an early opportunity to see the team in action, with nearly 48,000 fans attending the spring event at Neyland Stadium.
Now, the real games are almost here.
And that’s why the phrase βOnly four more Saturdaysβ hits differently.
The offseason is almost finished.
The waiting is almost finished.
The predictions are almost finished.
Soon, the scoreboard will decide everything.
𧑠VOL NATION, ARE YOU READY?
If you’re a Tennessee fan, this is the perfect time to start counting down.
Four Saturdays.
Then three.
Then two.
Then one.
And finallyβ¦
GAMEDAY. ππ₯
Furman will be the first opponent standing between Tennessee and the start of the 2026 campaign. The game is scheduled for September 5 at Neyland Stadium, giving Vol fans their first official Saturday of Tennessee football this season.
From there, the schedule only gets more intense.

Kennesaw State.
Texas.
Auburn.
Arkansas.
Alabama.
