The PGA Tour has officially named Brandt Snedeker as the U.S. Team Captain and Geoff Ogilvy as the International Team Captain, setting the stage for a highly anticipated match between the two teams.
Brandt Snedeker: Leading Team USA
Brandt Snedeker, a 44-year-old Nashville native, has been selected to captain the U.S. team. With nine PGA Tour victories, including the 2012 FedEx Cup, Snedeker brings a wealth of experience to the role. He represented the United States in the 2013 Presidents Cup and served as an assistant captain in the 2024 edition.
Snedeker expressed his honor in leading Team USA, stating, “It’s a tremendous honor to be named U.S. team captain for the 2026 Presidents Cup by my peers, and I’m looking forward to leading our guys into Medinah for what will certainly be an amazing week of golf.”
Geoff Ogilvy: Steering the International Team
Geoff Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open champion, will captain the International team. The 47-year-old Australian has an impressive record, with eight PGA Tour wins and a 7–9–2 record in five Presidents Cup appearances. He has also served as an assistant captain in the last four editions of the event.
Ogilvy’s connection to Medinah is particularly notable, as his golf course design firm, OCM, oversaw the renovation of Course No. 3, the venue for the 2026 Presidents Cup. The two-year project, completed in 2023, included larger greens, wider fairways, and a new routing on the back nine.
Reflecting on his appointment, Ogilvy said, “The Presidents Cup has been a significant part of my career. I am honored to now take on the role of captain of the International Team for the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3, a place that means a great deal to me.”

Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3 has a storied history in golf, having hosted multiple major tournaments, including the 2012 Ryder Cup. The 2026 Presidents Cup marks a return to this iconic venue, promising an exciting and competitive atmosphere for both players and fans.
