Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown said on social media that his car has been recovered after it was stolen early Monday morning.

“I’m out here grinding for the Philadelphia Eagles, and I’ve got to look for my car. But see, we’ve already got the whip. I told you to just turn the car back in, and now you’ve got to deal with the consequences, man,” Brown said in a video posted to social media.

“I’ll tell y’all a funny joke. This morning, when I was talking to the police, my little son comes up and goes ‘Dada, Paw Patrol!’ I said, ‘Everybody’s got jokes this morning.’ Now the joke’s on you,” he added.

Fox 29 in Philadelphia, citing sources, reported that the car was found in Camden, New Jersey, and that police had the suspect in custody. ESPN has reached out to the Camden Police Department for comment.

Brown, a three-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl LIX champion, had earlier posted a plea on social media after his vehicle disappeared.

“Just bring the whip back, bro. I won’t press charges. Just bring the whip back and you can go on about your day … You were smooth with it though. Pulled up at 3:42, you got up out of there at 3:45, you’re fast on your feet,” Brown said. “I’m going to show you how fast I am on my feet. Real talk. This is about to get done today.”

Brown, in a nod to his son, has since changed his profile picture on his X and Instagram accounts to Chase from the “Paw Patrol” animated television show.

Brown did not specify the make of the car that was stolen.

EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy won’t have any limitations during the team’s offseason program, coach Kevin O’Connell said Monday as players reported for their first day of voluntary workouts.

McCarthy, the No. 10 pick of the 2024 draft, missed his rookie season because of a torn meniscus in his right knee but has been working at the team facility for most of the past three months to build his body back from the long layoff.

“I think he’s ready to hit the ground running as of today,” O’Connell said.

The Vikings haven’t named McCarthy their 2025 starter, but they have bid farewell to three quarterbacks who spent time with them last season — Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones and Nick Mullens — and have not yet signed a replacement. Brett Rypien is the only other quarterback on the roster. The Vikings held serious internal discussions about signing veteran Aaron Rodgers last month but put the idea on hold while McCarthy works through the offseason.

O’Connell said Monday that “we’ve got a pretty detailed plan for how we want to go about” adding one or more quarterbacks to the roster. The delay can be partially attributed to the NFL’s post-draft deadline for free agents affecting teams’ formulas for compensatory draft picks. But general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said last week that the formula is not the only factor.

“We’ve been patient and really evaluated a lot of different ways we could potentially do that,” O’Connell said of adding another quarterback. “There’s potential trades and free agency and still the draft. We’re going through a process of just figuring out who is the player that we want to solidify that room with knowing that J.J. and Brett are here working, starting today, and eventually we’ll complete that room and still have a competitive situation in there, however you look at it.”

Carson Wentz is among a handful of veteran quarterbacks still available on the free agent market. Players who might be available via trade include the Atlanta Falcons’ Kirk Cousins, the Seattle Seahawks’ Sam Howell and the Las Vegas Raiders’ Aidan O’Connell.

In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, though, Vikings players are preparing for the likelihood that McCarthy will be the starter.

“He looks great,” running back Aaron Jones said. “I’ve seen him today moving around. He looks good in the weight room, looks good, confident. I’m very confident in him. He has all the support around him and we’re here to lift him up and he’s going to be ready to go.”

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Cornerback Sauce Gardner, wide receiver Garrett Wilson and defensive end Jermaine Johnson — the New York Jets’ first-round picks in 2022 — will have their fifth-year options exercised in the coming days, general manager Darren Mougey said Monday.

Gardner and Wilson were no-brainers; Gardner is a two-time All-Pro and Wilson has three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons. The only question involved Johnson, who missed 15 games last season due to Achilles tendon surgery. But he’s progressing well in his rehab, and he showed enough in 2023 (7.5 sacks) to solidify the team’s decision.

The fifth-year option projections (2026 salary) for Gardner, Wilson and Johnson are $20.2 million, $16.8 million and $13.4 million, according to Over the Cap. The salaries are fully guaranteed. The deadline to exercise the options is May 1.

All three players are eligible for contract extensions. The organization has described Gardner and Wilson as dynamic players they want to keep long term, but Mougey declined to comment on potential extensions while speaking to reporters Monday at his predraft news conference.

Mougey also was mum on Aaron Rodgers’ criticism of coach Aaron Glenn and the organization. Rodgers, speaking last Thursday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” blasted Glenn for showing a lack of respect in a Feb. 6 meeting at the team facility — the day the coach informed the future Hall of Famer of his plans to release him.

Mougey, who was part of the meeting, was asked if he disputes anything that Rodgers said.

“I understand the question and I addressed that at the combine,” Mougey said. “Today I just want to talk about the draft and Jets players.”

Asked if he has any regrets about the way the team handled Rodgers’ ouster, Mougey replied: “I understand the question, but I just want to talk about the draft and current Jets players.”

Glenn, who didn’t participate in the news conference, still hasn’t commented.

The Jets released Rodgers on March 12 and moved quickly to sign free agent Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract. He recently was named the starter.

“We feel really strongly about Justin as our starter,” Mougey said.
