Frederica Academy’s varsity golf team concluded their 2025 season with a commendable third-place finish at the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) State Tournament, held on April 28 at Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville, Georgia. This performance underscores the team’s consistent excellence and resilience throughout the season.


Season Overview

Under the guidance of Head Coach Tom Willis, the Knights embarked on a rigorous schedule that included prestigious tournaments such as the Camden Classic, Johnny Paulk Invitational, and the Jim Ferree Invitational. Their dedication and hard work culminated in clinching the GIAA Region 2-3A championship, setting a strong foundation for their state tournament performance.

At the state tournament, Frederica Academy faced stiff competition from top-tier teams across Georgia. Despite the challenges, the Knights showcased their skill and determination, securing a third-place finish. This achievement reflects the team’s depth and the players’ ability to perform under pressure.

Notably, Jackson Byrd delivered consistent performances, including a strong showing at the Johnny Paulk Invitational, where he finished just behind the medalist.
