Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan has made up his mind on his future amid uncertainty surrounding the club’s financial situation.
Sheffield Wednesday’s difficulties continue with some players still yet to be paid by Dejphon Chansiri for May.
Whilst backroom staff and coaches were all eventually given what they were owed, several first team players continue to be left in the dark, something which will likely lead to them turning their heads to look for a club elsewhere.
The issues at the club will also likely have a drastic effect on the players who have been offered new contracts at Sheffield Wednesday but are yet to sign, one of which being Barry Bannan.
Despite no communication of whether such a deal would be able to be paid by Chansiri, the Scotsman has already made up his mind on where he wishes to be next season.

As reported by The Star, Barry Bannan has a clear desire to continue his tenure in S6 and play an integral role for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Bannan has been linked with a move to Wrexham, but such a move hasn’t interested the midfielder, who has clear ambitions to retire with the Owls.
As exclusively revealed by EFL Analysis in May, Sheffield Wednesday was always set to be the final destination for Bannan, and whilst uncertainties regarding payment may sway the heads of some players, the Scotsman would clearly do anything to remain at Hillsborough Stadium for a further term.

There is no doubt that Bannan is held in the highest regard by Sheffield Wednesday fans because he has always stuck by the club through thick and thin.
However, not much would be able to top this decision by Bannan. If the 35-year-old decided that now was the time to part from the club, he would go with the best wishes of all fans, who would all agree that he doesn’t deserve to have his future in doubt over difficulties with payments originating from Chansiri.
But, the fact that he has decided to stay with the club, even in its darkest hour, reflects truly on how much he loves the club and that he is willing to put his security to the side to help save Sheffield Wednesday next season.
