Bayern Munich now want to sign ‘exceptional’ Aston Villa star after missing out on Florian Wirtz to Liverpool

German champions Bayern Munich are now interested in a deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers this summer, TBR Football can exclusively reveal.

Morgan Rogers is attracting a lot of interest at Aston Villa right now owing to his superb performances last season.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been in constant contact with Villa this summer about a potential move, a player who is being watched across Europe.

In 54 appearances last season, Rogers scored 14 goals and registered 15 assists, a 22-year-old with a big future ahead.

However, as far as Villa are concerned, Rogers won’t be sold this summer and the forward’s future still belongs at Villa Park.

Vincent Kompany pushing to Bayern Munich to pursue Morgan Rogers

That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, can now reveal that Bayern Munich will be the latest disappointed club in pursuit of Rogers.

Villa have made it clear that Rogers is ‘not for sale under any circumstances’, even if Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is now encouraging interest from Bavaria.

Kompany knows Rogers well from his time at Manchester City and the manager has backed the club’s enquiries regarding the England international.

Bayern are in the market for another attacking option right now given that Liverpool have won the race for Florian Wirtz.

The German champions were hoping to sign Florian Wirtz themselves, but they are now turning their attention to alternatives.

Of course, Villa will be making sales this summer — Unai Emery is looking to adapt his squad for another top-four assault next season.

And as previously revealed, Villa are ready to sell Leon Bailey, whilst talks have also been held about a departure for Emi Martinez.

Aston Villa’s stance would only change if Morgan Rogers wanted out

Providing further context to Villa’s stance, Bailey confirmed that things might only change were Rogers to push for a move, but there’s no signs at all of that happening right now.

Bailey explained: “Villa are insistent on Rogers – they are not looking to sell. They know they can’t stop clubs asking, but they are not relenting.

“Should Rogers push for a move, things could change but I am told that Rogers has shown no inclination of seeking a move this summer.

“He is very happy under Emery and has become one of England’s top young talents under him and is not desperate to leave at this point.”

And to demonstrate Villa’s stance, ‘exceptional‘ Rogers is valued at more than £100m at Villa Park, a player who was signed from Middlesbrough in 2024 for a relatively modest fee in comparison.
