In a recent show of support, Brian Staley, father of Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Braylon Staley, publicly endorsed fellow wideout Trey Weary, highlighting the depth and talent within the team’s receiving corps. Amid discussions about potential additions from the transfer portal, Staley emphasized the capabilities of existing players like Weary.
“I know we want to add a WR out the portal but, we do have some guys that can play. Man, @TREYWEARY2022 (Trey Weary) can play too! I’ve bought plenty of things in my day and haven’t used it. MONEY WASTED. Some say better to have it then to need it later. Guess what? It’s still collecting dust,” Staley expressed on social media.
Weary, entering his redshirt-junior season, has seen limited action, recording three receptions for 18 yards against the Chattanooga Mocs. Despite this, Staley’s comments suggest confidence in Weary’s potential to contribute significantly if given the opportunity.
