Loose Women star Christine Lampard has shared a candid insight into her marriage with Coventry City boss Frank Lampard, revealing that he has a playful nickname for one of his body parts. Having tied the knot with the former England legend — who turns 47 today — back in 2015, the couple currently have two children together, Patricia and Freddie.
During a recent chat on the Loose Women podcast, Christine joined Coleen as the pair discussed their different approaches to parenting — and, in Christine’s case, how she has navigated raising her two youngsters with Frank.
When Coleen asked the 46-year-old whether they use “nicknames” for their “private parts” around their children, Christine humorously confessed that Frank has decided to call his a “dinkle.”
Explaining how it has come in handy while recently potty training their youngest, she said: “So Frank, when he was potty training Freddie, that was the terminology. So Frank will say, ‘Your dinkle does this. You have to wash your dinkle.’”
Before tying the knot with Christine nearly a decade ago, Frank had already started a family with his ex, Spanish model Elen Rivas. While the pair had two daughters together, they ended their relationship and broke off their engagement in 2008.
During her chat with Coleen, Christine also shared details of her relationship with Frank’s two eldest children, Luna and Isla.
Discussing the approach she and Frank take when handling sensitive topics with his teenage daughters, Christine said they try to approach things with a touch of humour: “But we also approached it all with a slight sense of humour — and obviously I don’t mean we were always joking about everything; sometimes that wasn’t appropriate.”
Away from his family life, Frank has carved out a hugely successful career over the decades. Originally playing for West Ham, he later moved to Chelsea, where he is widely remembered as one of their greatest-ever players.
Having finished his time at Chelsea with three league titles and a Champions League trophy, he also went on to make a staggering 106 appearances for England.
Hanging up his boots in 2016, Frank embarked on a managerial career with stints at Derby County, Chelsea, and Everton, before most recently joining the Sky Blues.
With the side languishing in 17th place when he took over, he soon turned around their fortunes, securing a spot in the play-off places by the end of the campaign. However, they were beaten by Sunderland in the semi-finals, with hopes of a return to the Premier League put on hold for at least another year.
