Crystal Palace Frontrunners to Sign ‘World-Class’ Brazilian, He’s Ready to Leave

Crystal Palace are seen as the most likely destination for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Eagles are looking to strengthen their squad after a tremendous 2024/25 season in which they won the FA Cup for the first time in their history, and therefore qualified for the Europa League for 2025/26.

Oliver Glasner now wants to add more quality and depth to his squad as a result in order to compete on all fronts, and Brazil international Luiz has emerged as a top target.

The central midfielder, who has been described as “world-class” by former Aston Villa teammate John McGinn, made the move to Turin last summer but struggled for regular game time under Thiago Motta.

New boss Igor Tudor has failed to offer him assurances that he will feature more regularly, and now the 27-year-old is said to be considering a move away for more first-team football ahead of the World Cup in 2026.

Juventus are willing to sell him for around £21.7m (€25m) and Palace are seen to be his ‘most likely’ destination, with the Eagles seemingly willing to pay such a fee to take him to Selhurst Park.

However, Juventus are hopeful that with Luiz now available and open to a move it could spark a bidding war from some of the Premier League’s bigger clubs and that could drive the price up a bit more. Crystal Palace are also eyeing other midfield options this summer, with RC Lens star Andy Diouf being targeted.

GIVEMESPORT sources revealed that the club are leaning towards a £50m+ sale of captain Marc Guehi amid interest from Liverpool, after he made it clear he wouldn’t renew his contract with the club which is currently set to expire in 2026.

There is also strong interest in star forward Eberechi Eze, who has a release clause in the region of £60m and is expected to be moved on with Tottenham the club showing the most interest currently.
