This summer, there is a strong chance that David Moyes and Kyle Walker will work together at Everton.
It appears that Everton are lacking a sense of character and experience in the squad, as The Friedkin Group will want to improve this.
With captain Seamus Coleman set to be out of the playing frame and moving onto coaching, Moyes will lean on players with pedigree.
This is where Kyle Walker comes in as the 35-year-old is looking likely to leave Man City this summer.
Moyes loves Walker’s experience, and although he’s now gained this knowledge of the game, the Scotsman tracked him when he was only bursting through.
David Moyes thought he had signed Kyle Walker at Everton
With Moyes now in his second spell, it’s obvious he knows the club inside and out.
That’s set to reflect in this summer’s transfer window, with the Everton boss set to have a major impact on the comings and goings.
A plan for the Scotsman might have already been laid out with Moyes tracking Championship players, and by mixing that with someone of Walker’s experience could be a match made in heaven.
It seems like Moyes has never stopped this belief of signing from the Championship, as that’s exactly what he planned to do with Walker.
Back in 2009, a 19-year-old Walker was learning his trade at Sheffield United and heavily impressed in a 1-0 second-tier play-off final defeat to Burnley, and has even hinted at a return to his boyhood club.
This gained the attention of many Premier League clubs, including Moyes’ Everton, and speaking to The Athletic, former Blades boss, Kevin Blackwell, claimed how close the Toffees boss was to landing Walker.
“David Moyes thought he had Kyle (signing) at Everton,” recalls Blackwell.
“But Harry Redknapp was also a big fan and, in the end, Tottenham signed Kyle. It was a great deal for him and them.”

Walker can still show his class at Everton
Even though the perception is that the right-back wouldn’t be a good signing, his ability to win in the game is unmatched.
Everton fans are against Walker’s signing, suggesting his legs are going, but even though his loan spell at AC Milan didn’t work out, he still showed glimmers that he could play at the top of his game.

This is what Moyes is holding onto, as his time at City under Guardiola proved he’s one of the best right-backs the Premier League has ever seen.
If the Scotsman can get any inch of the promise Walker showed at the start of his career, a free transfer could end up being a masterclass.
