A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply after officers spotted ‘suspicious activity’ in Coventry city centre. St Michael’s Priority Crime team were doing their rounds when they noticed something on Harley Street.
Officers found an amount of Class A drugs after ‘a stop search’. A man was arrested and will be facing police questioning.
Police in the city centre are eager to tackle this issue, and other antisocial behaviours plaguing the city centre. They urge anyone who sees problems such as suspecting drug dealing to tell police.
A spokesman for Coventry Police said: “While on patrol in the city centre, the St Michael’s Priority Crime team spotted suspicious activity in Harley Street.
“After a stop search, the team recovered six bag of Class A drugs and other drugs from the vehicle.
“A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and remains in custody for further questioning.
“Disrupting drug dealing in the city centre is a priority for Coventry Police. You can report suspected drug dealing or suspicious vehicles on 101.”
