Real Betis still keen on Leeds United star

The arrival of German striker Lukas Nmecha over the weekend has stirred a lot of conversations around Elland Road. There were rumours that a new striker would come through the door, now everyone is questioning the implications.
Nmecha is obviously expected to be a starter, meaning one of the current options will drop down a place. And since Joel Piroe was the starter last season, Mateo Joseph is the one expected to play less minutes in the Premier League. Leeds know that they could lose the Spain U21 international after some European club expressed interest this summer.
A report from Estadio Deportivo revealed that Real Betis are serious about signing Joseph, and will push to convince him this summer. The belief is that getting the youngster to agree to a move could reduce the transfer fee for the La Liga side. Betis are said to have made ‘considerable progress’ while the striker is currently on international duty at the U21 European Championships.
Joseph could leave this summer
There has been serious interest in the youngster, and from the reports, these clubs are ready to give him a spot in their first team. As it stands, he will be on the outside looking in at Elland Road this season. Especially when Leeds are looking to add another striker even after the signing of Lukas Nmecha.
