Everton are showing interest in Habib Diarra, but it has become apparent they are not the only club with him on their radar.
The Toffees have already experienced some serious competition for some of their targets this summer.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Leeds have suffered a major blow in their pursuit of signing the Senegal international.
It is believed a move to Elland Road is now looking ‘unlikely’ despite the Whites submitting a bid to Strasbourg last week.
Issues on the player’s side in the negotiations would need to be resolved and it is claimed that would take some doing.
This is great news for Everton who have seen a real opportunity open up in the race to sign Diarra.
Although there will be concerns about losing their current midfielder, Gueye has issued a message to Diarra amid the links to Everton.

Everton need to capitalise on Leeds’ Diarra issues
Strasbourg’s president admitted he will sell Diarra this summer if the right offer is to land on his table.
The issue Leeds have experienced has been on the player’s side, however.
Everton are hoping their new stadium will attract players and this could prove to be the case with a player like Diarra who has shown concerns over other clubs.
The transfer window is still young, but this feels like an opportunity that Everton need to pounce on.
