Wolves could make their first signing for the summer soon, with Fer Lopez set to join from Celta Vigo.
On Sunday evening it was claimed that Wolves and Celta Vigo had reached an agreement over Lopez.
The player had already reached an agreement with Wolves on personal terms.
Lopez was thought to have a release clause in the region of £17 million, which needed paying in one lump sum.
Wolves are apparently going to be paying more than that, but in installments for better cash flow. It’s thought the final agreement is around the £20 million mark.
Fans will hope the club can tie up the deal quickly now.
And should it come to fruition as expected, it’s difficult to see one player in particular sticking around for much longer.
Goncalo Guedes exit likely at Wolves as a result of Fer Lopez transfer

Fabrizio Romano reported the Fer Lopez deal could be concluded this week, which would be welcome news.
Fans have watched the summer start with an exodus and really want to see some incomings now.
But more players are going to leave, and it would be no surprise if Goncalo Guedes departed quite quickly after the Lopez deal was concluded.
Guedes rather faded at Wolves in 2025 after making some good contributions in the first half of the 2024/25 season.
Pereira admitted recently that he actually likes Guedes, but said the player has the ambition to leave the club.
It was something of a surprise that Guedes even featured at all for Wolves in 2024/25, after he had spent time at Benfica and Villarreal on loan.
Julen Lopetegui had said in January 2023 that Guedes didn’t want to be at Wolves and most felt he would not be seen again in a Wolves shirt from that moment on.
But Gary O’Neil reintegrated him ahead of 2024/25, and to his credit he did get 10 goal contributions. But Pereira’s comments suggest the player’s feeling is pretty clear.

Which club could Goncalo Guedes join from Wolves?
It was recently claimed that Guedes was being targeted by Flamengo, the former club of Vitor Pereira and Joao Gomes.
There have been no developments since, but Guedes is still expected to move on, especially with Lopez now looking like he’ll sign for Wolves. For the most part, Guedes was used in the number 10 positions last term, which is where Lopez would be playing.

One would imagine that Hwang Hee-chan is more likely to stay than Guedes, as Hwang does actually want to be at Molineux. The South Korean has also been praised by Pereira.
Guedes has also had interest from Villarreal previously, so it would be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit make another swoop for the 28-year-old.
