Idrissa Gana Gueye’s future at Everton is still undecided as the transfer window reopens.
The midfielder is out of contract at the end of June and could leave the Toffees on a free, with talks underway over a new deal.
Gueye has remained an important player at Goodison Park since he rejoined the Merseyside club in 2022 from Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite being 35 years old, the midfielder made 40 appearances last season, with David Moyes aiming to keep the Senegalese international.
Paris FC and Stade Rennais aim to convince Gueye to move
Everton have presented Gueye with a new contract to stay at the Merseyside club.
Recent reports have suggested that Gueye is not convinced by the Toffees’ terms as he ponders the decision.
Now, according to Footmercato (17 June), Paris FC and Stade Rennais are looking to pounce are the midfielder considers his options.
Everton have offered Gueye a one-year deal with the option of a second year.
However, his delay is seen as a “godsend” to Paris FC, who are aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to Ligue 1.
Stade Rennais manager Habib Beye is also interested in the midfielder as he looks to convince the 35-year-old of a move to Brittany and crumble his contract talks with Everton.
Everton need to move on from Gueye
It has become clear in recent weeks that Gueye is unsure of the project at Everton next season.
Therefore, Moyes and the Toffees simply may have to move on from the midfielder soon.
The Merseyside club cannot wait for players who do not want to be here if there is a better offer elsewhere, or they risk being stung down the line.

On top of this, with Gueye being 35 years old, a replacement should be looked at regardless, as the midfielder likely only has one or two years left at the top of English football.
