Leeds United have shown a keen interest in signing Nikola Krstovic from Lecce.
The Whites have already made their intentions clear that they want to complete a move for the Montenegro international this summer.
This comes after already being active in the transfer window with Lukas Nmecha already coming in on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
If Daniel Farke is to bring the 25-year-old man in from Serie A, they must now submit a bid to give Roma no chance of completing a deal of their own.

It is clear that the LS11 club are keen to add a fresh-faced forward to their ranks ahead of the new Premier League season.
This has seen the Yorkshire outfit table a “significant” offer for Krstovic with their bid understood to be close to what Lecce want [Gianluca Di Marzio, 18 June].
As positive as this could prove to be, interest from Roma could prove to be a problem for the Whites as the window ticks on.
The Italian giants are said to be closely following the 17-goal involvement forward, with a £25.6million fee wanted for his services [La Gazzetta Dello Sport, 19 June, page 23].
This could now see the Elland Road club table a bid in excess of that fee to beat Gian Piero Gasperini to his signature, in the Italian’s debut season with I Giallorossi.
Leeds United must beat Roma to Krstovic signing
If Leeds do want to add a forward to their ranks, they are going to have to challenge some top sides to do so.
This has already seen Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz linked for a club record fee, although the Cottagers are seemingly unsure about a sale.
As a result, a move to bring in Krstovic could prove to make sense after such a positive season for a side that stayed up by just three points.
This could see the 25-year-old flourish after moving to the Premier League, especially as competition for Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph in LS11.
It will be interesting to see how the Whites’ lineup looks as the Premier League season rolls around and a clash against Everton awaits.
