Leeds United are certainly not short of attacking options to go after this summer when it comes to the transfer market. From the likes of veteran Premier league strikers in Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson to moves for players such as Evan Ferguson, Josh Sargent and Cameron Archer, the Whites are being linked with a host of names who can play up top.
Another of those to be heavily linked in recent weeks is AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott. The Republic of Ireland international has only been in Holland for a year after signing from Tottenham Hotspur, but is already being attached to clubs back in England after an impressive season which saw him score 20 goals.
The 23-year-old is being discussed as a Wolverhampton Wanderers target and with a potential switch to Leeds also under consideration. However, newspaper reports in the Netherlands are now distancing the Whites from making a move for Parrott due to the large transfer fee AZ are wanting for a player that cost them just over £3m a year ago.
De Telegraaf report AZ are asking for £25m for the striker, with the club determined to cash in if they are to let the player leave this summer. According to the report the fee is not one Leeds are prepared to match with the board unwilling to pay that figure, which is a fair position to take given what looks like an over inflated price for a player with almost zero Premier League experience and a record that until last season had not seen anyone take any real notice.
