That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who report that Liverpool and Aston Villa are both keen on the 19-year-old.
They say that the young Betis start has attracted a lot of attention in his first season at the elite level, and, despite renewing his deal until 2029 in September and having a release clause worth €25m, extendable to €50m with a new extension, he is on the market.
Intermediaries and agents have been floating the player to various markets, seeking a convincing offer to take back to Betis. No official offer has been made but there is interest.
Aston Villa and Liverpool have made enquiries. That is with the club and the player to work out what the conditions would be. They have both been scouting him also, but Aston Villa have gone one step further by engaging in light talks with Betis’ management to work out finances.
One potential route to be looked into could involve Enzo Barrenechea. Diario de Sevilla report today that Betis are keen on the Aston Villa midfielder this summer. That could work in their favour when it comes to Jesús Rodríguez.
For now, nothing is concrete but the interest from the Villans and Liverpool is there and something to keep a close eye on.
