Marc Guehihas popped up on Liverpool’s radar as the Premier League champions continue to shake things up in the transfer market – but Crystal Palace won’t let their top defender go without a fight.
Guehi, 24, is fresh off an incredible season with the Eagles, having helped them bag the FA Cup last month. A year after turning down an offer from Newcastle and another from Tottenham in January, it appears Palace are gearing up for more bids for their skipper.
Liverpool have now joined the race for Guehi, who made the switch to Selhurst Park from Chelsea in the summer of 2021. The Reds are currently negotiating the sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for a cool £34million and have earmarked Guehi as the ideal replacement for their academy product.
But even though the England ace might be in the final year of his contract, Palace are expected to dig their heels in over his future.
While they may not be able to demand the £65m they wanted from Newcastle last summer, Palace are still likely to ask for a hefty fee to part ways with Guehi ahead of the 2025/26 season.

They also knocked back a £55m bid plus £15m in add-ons from Spurs six months ago, reports the Mirror.
However, there could be a potential deal on the cards with the Eagles currently discussing a £40m move for Ousmane Diomande, the Sporting Lisbon centre half who, interestingly, was once on Liverpool’s wish list.
The reigning champions are eager to bolster their defence with a new centre-back, given the uncertainty surrounding Ibrahima Konate’s future, as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield, and injury-prone Joe Gomez, who endured another season with long spells on the sidelines.
Jarrad Branthwaite is another player on Liverpool’s radar, according to The Mail.
However, they acknowledge that securing Everton’s star defender would be far from easy due to the fierce rivalry between the neighbouring clubs.
In addition to a new centre-back, Liverpool are also hot on the heels of Milos Kerkez. A deal for the Bournemouth left-back is believed to be nearing completion.
