Football Insider reports that Luton Town are set to name Marc Tracy as their new head of recruitment.
Tracy currently holds a role as chief scout with upcoming League One rivals Lincoln City, but he is now set to land an influential role with LTFC. He also overseas the management of loan players at Sincil Bank and will be hoping his experience can make him a hit in Bedfordshire with a big summer ahead at Luton Town.
Tracy’s pedigree
Tracy has held numerous roles at EFL level and will be eager to display the benefits of his experience in an important role at Luton Town.
He spent spells in various academy positions with Rushden & Diamonds, Colchester United, Cambridge United and even Luton before a return to Cambridge. When he headed back to the U’s, it was for a second stint as a senior scout and chief youth scout.
It equipped him well for the role as chief scout at Lincoln City, where he has been for seven years now.
A big summer ahead at Luton Town
As Tracy heads for Luton Town, his first transfer window will be a hectic one.
LTFC will see numerous players move on after the relegation from the Championship and they will need replacements. Bloomfield will be eager to retain a side strong enough to fight at the top end of the table and given how many are likely to leave, it puts a lot of pressure on the recruitment team.
The Hatters have looked overseas more in recent seasons, so Tracy and co will likely cast a wide net again as they rebuild the squad at Kenilworth Road.
