TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Manchester City are ready to launch a bid to sign a highly-rated Newcastle player.
Manchester City have been very active in the summer transfer window, having spent over £100m already on four players.
City have confirmed the signing of Rayan Cherki from Lyon for around £30m. Pep Guardiola’s side have also signed Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for around £31m and Tejjani Reijnders from AC Milan for £47m.
They also signed goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea and are now eyeing their next signing in Newcastle’s Tino Livramento.
Manchester City ready to pay £40m to sign Tino Livramento
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Manchester City are stepping up their interest in a new right-back despite Kyle Walker’s return to the club.
Man City’s search for a new right-back has seen them linked with several players. As per TBR Football, they retain an interest in Freiburg’s Kiliann Sildillia.
And while recent talks with Juventus over Andrea Cambiaso and Nicolo Savona have not been fruitful, Pep Guardiola has not given up on signing Livramento.
Sources have confirmed to TBR Football that City believe they could still prise Livramento out of Newcastle and are ready to offer £40m for him.
However, the Magpies remain insistent that they have no plans to sell the England defender.
Livramento is a highly-rated right-back with Walker himself labelling him a ‘great player‘ in his recent podcast.
Speaking about the full-back position for England back in May, he said on The Kyle Walker Podcast: “Going back, in the England team it was me and Nathaniel Clyne. You also have Tino who’s at Newcastle who shouldn’t be disregarded, he’s had a fantastic season and looks like a great player.”
Kyle Walker’s future is not at Manchester City
He does not have a future at City either, and with just 12 months left in his current contract, his agents are working hard to find him options.

TBR Football confirms there is interest in him from several European clubs, with Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both keen on signing him.
Saudi Pro League are also interested in the 35-year-old but it is a move that does not appeal to the player.
As per TBR Football, there is also the distant prospect of a return to his first club Sheffield United, but that would need City to pay off Walker or cover the vast majority of his wages in the coming season.
