Some days ago, Crystal Palace were linked with a move for Juventus’ Tiago Djalo and they will now face competition from Newcastle United.
Despite the centre-back failing to impress in his season-long loan stint at FC Porto, he is still attracting attention and Juve are considering his permanent transfer.
TuttoJuve’s Mirko di Natale reports that while Crystal Palace remain interested in the ex-Lille player, Newcastle United have come forward and asked for information about his situation.
It has been described as a ‘simple survey’ by the Magpies and the indication is that he is one of many names on Eddie Howe’s shortlist.
Di Natale is confident that Newcastle United want a player of his profile this summer and Djalo is someone that the Tyneside club have been considering since 2023.
The 25-year-old has played only nine domestic league games for Porto and Juve combined in the past two seasons.
That should be a major red flag for Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, who should also be aware of the fact his drop in form has largely come about after a serious ACL injury derailed his progress at Lille.
