Rangers have a significant decision to make regarding Nico Raskin this summer transfer window.

The ex-Standard Liege star’s contract at Ibrox expires in 2027, and now feels like the right time for the Gers to cash in on him unless the midfielder signs a new deal.

Wolves are interested in Raskin, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Belgium international leave wanting to make a switch to the Premier League.

While the Light Blues will be resigned to the 24-year-old’s departure down south, there could potentially be a possibility of him extending his stay in Glasgow.

The SunSport journalist believes the Belgian national could potentially sign a new contract with more money at Ibrox instead of leaving this summer.

Hannah feels the Light Blues can possibly demand more money for the midfielder down the line if they get him on a longer deal.

Speaking on The Scottish Sun SPORT (25 June), the journalist said: “I don’t think Raskin will go this summer, he will get more money than he’s currently on. Rangers would have the player on a longer contract and would probably be able to demand a bit more in terms of transfer fee.”

While Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have promised a cash injection at the Light Blues, it may not be enough to get the quality needed to build a competitive squad.

Rangers will undoubtedly need to raise some money with departures to reinvest in the team, and Raskin feels like the right candidate.

The Light Blues should arguably look at signing a new goalkeeper, centre-backs, midfielders and attackers, which won’t come cheap.

Bournemouth right-back Max Aarons looks to be on his way to Ibrox on loan, but Martin will undoubtedly demand more additions before the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on 22 July.

It would make sense for the Glaswegian outfit to accept a realistic offer for Raskin this summer and use some of that money to improve the squad.
