Nicolas Raskin’s future has been one of the major talking points at Rangers this summer.
The Bears midfielder enjoyed a sparkling season last time out despite playing at the heart of a team that was relatively dysfunctional at times, so it is no surprise that his form has attracted interest from other clubs.
The likes of Fiorentina and Aston Villa have been mooted as potential suitors for Raskin, with Rangers understood to have placed a valuation of around £25million on their star man.
Raskin joined the Govan outfit for just £1.75m back in January 2023, but after 16 goal contributions in all competitions last term, his value in the market is now skyrocketing.
Rangers set to offer Raskin a bumper new deal
Kevin Thelwell and Co. have faced a major decision on Raskin over the last few weeks, as interest has begun to gather in the 24-year-old from across Europe.
New boss Russell Martin is understood to have been handed a healthy transfer budget by the 49ers, but selling Raskin could, in theory, have almost doubled the amount of cash available to be reinvested into the squad this summer.
Raskin is approaching the final two years of his deal, but Martin has made it clear that he wants to build his new-look side around the Belgian, according to The Scottish Sun (20 June).
Thelwell is also keen to tie the midfielder down to a new long-term deal, which would provide additional security for the club and also drive up the potential asking price for Raskin even further.
It is believed that Raskin himself is happy at Rangers and could be open to penning a new deal to extend his stay.
Raskin could become dominant in the Premiership
News of Raskin potentially being open to staying at Ibrox will surely be hugely welcome to everyone at Rangers.
The Belgian improved drastically throughout last season and has become one of the Bears’ key players in the middle of the park.
That form has been recognised by his national team, with Raskin having now earned senior honours for Belgium.

After the season he had last time out, it’s no surprise that Martin wants to establish Raskin as one of his most important players.
The former Standard Liege man is the kind of midfielder who can do it all, and he possesses the ability to become a dominant force in the Premiership if he were to stay for another few years.
There are no discussions underway at this moment in time, but if Rangers could reach an agreement over new terms with Raskin, it could be their best piece of business this summer.
