COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Ohio State football fans have expressed growing frustration over their team’s frequent scheduling in the “Big Noon” game on FOX.

For years, Ohio State was a staple in the 3:30 p.m. window, but changing television and conference alignments have overtaken scheduling assignments more recently. The Buckeyes played seven of their 12 regular-season games at noon last year, including six straight to end the season.

In response, Boardman-area State Rep. Tex Fischer has introduced a bill aimed at altering game times for the Buckeyes.

Fischer confirmed a report by political blog The Rooster about his proposed legislation. The bill stipulates that if an Ohio State team ranked in the top 10 is playing another top-10 team, the game cannot start before 3:30 p.m.

It also seeks to preserve traditional rivalry times, such as the noon kickoff for the Ohio State-Michigan game.

The Fox Big Noon Kickoff has been a point of contention for many Ohio State fans, with the Ohio State-Texas game and several others last year scheduled for the early time slot.
