Oliver Glasner must be loving this part of his managerial career.
The manager was wanted by Bayern Munich last summer, but the Eagles refused to simply give in to the German giants and it ultimately saw them win the FA Cup. Glasner has been linked with other Bundesliga clubs throughout much of the season, but the Austrian press repeatedly insisted he isn’t keen on leaving English football.
Winning the FA Cup with Crystal Palace, and subsequently securing European football for next season, means Glasner once again only has his eyes on the Eagles.
The manager is currently enjoying his break, but is still working on business for the London club.
Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung report Glasner has visited National Park Resort Dilly in Windischgarsten, where Crystal Palace are pre-season training from July 27th until August 2nd, to check out the facilities and make sure all the details are just how he wants them.
Owner Horst Dilly has recently invested to improve the football facilities and is quoted as saying: “The pitches were already very good before, but they didn’t meet today’s standards; you have to keep investing to keep up.”
He also revealed he’s set to send a gift to Glasner: “When he won the Europa League with Frankfurt, he was also with us and received a 15-litre bottle of wine, which he finished with the team. After the FA Cup victory, he’ll, of course, get another bottle. We’ve already chosen it together; it will be a quality 2012 wine from Austria.”
