Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has made a prediction about Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak possibly moving to Anfield.
The 25-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Merseyside, despite Newcastle insisting that Isak is not for sale.
Geordie Boot Boys were told earlier this year that Liverpool think they can sign Isak, and they could now be set to step up their attempt to strike a deal.
It has been reported that Liverpool are prepared to make a British record bid for Isak, at a time when they are due to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £116million.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool would make Danny Murphy go ‘wow’
The prospect of Isak joining Liverpool remains farfetched to Newcastle United fans, while Danny Murphy is not convinced that a deal will happen either.
He spoke about the Newcastle United striker on TalkSPORT, admitting that Liverpool will absolutely be favourites for the Premier League title if the Swede joins Arne Slot’s side.
“The big thing [at Liverpool] is who comes in and who goes out,” he said.
“I’m hypothesising here and it probably won’t happen, but there has been some news about Isak possibly going to Liverpool. I know that sounds a bit wow, but can you imagine? All of a sudden, of course Liverpool are favourites.”

As has always been the case, the ball remains in Newcastle United’s court. They are not under pressure to sell for financial reasons, while Isak has a contract at St James’ Park until 2028.
What Liverpool’s interest in Isak does is put the Magpies under pressure. It is a show of intent to the forward, with Liverpool willing to strike a deal.
That increases the pressure on Newcastle’s looming contract talks with Isak. The stakes are raised, with Toon officials needing to offer Isak something he cannot get elsewhere.
The money needs to be right. Newcastle want Isak to be their highest-paid player, but by how much? They talk about him being one of the best strikers in the world, so they must pay him as such. After all, Liverpool will surely be willing to pay the Sweden international in excess of £200,000-a-week.
He has won a trophy at St James’ Park and is going to be playing in the Champions League again. That needs to be a regular theme on Tyneside for Isak to stay. They must give him assurances that is possible.
But the ball remains in Newcastle’s court. This may just be gamesmanship from Liverpool, but it is still Newcastle who hold all the aces.
