Nottingham Forest are exploring a double deal with Juventus for Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula, but one aspect of the potential deal is seriously concerning fans of the Italian club.
After Nottingham Forest News was able to confirm that Forest are in talks for Weah and Mbangula, excitement grew at the potential of two new wide players arriving at the City Ground.
Nuno Espírito Santo wanted two new wingers to bolster his squad, so the deal made sense on Forest’s side, with Weah a right winger and Mbangula operating on the left.
However, the deal hasn’t gone down as well over in Italy as Juventus fans took to social media to voice their disbelief at the idea of losing Mbangula in particular.

Weah’s ability to operate at right back as well as on the wing will be a huge asset to the Forest squad, but at 21 years old, Mbangula’s talent and potential make him particularly exciting.
Mbangula shares similarities to Callum Hudson-Odoi, and if that’s anything to go by, it’s no surprise to see Juventus fans upset about the potential of losing the Belgian.
One Juve fan said: “Losing Mbangula for £8 million without even a buy-back clause is a bad move,” while another added: “If we sell Mbangula for £8 million, it’s because we’re idiots.”
Another said: “Juve continues to make nonsensical deals […], the Weah/Mbangula deal is idiotic.” One more added: “For me, it’s wrong. At least for Mbangula, we’ll regret it, as usual.”
The touted transfer fee continued to infuriate Juventus fans, with one saying: “If in March Mbangula was valued at around £20 million, how can you sell him for this amount? It’s stupid!” Another said: “We’re selling Mbangula for a whopping £8m when he should be sold for nothing less than £18/20m.”
Samuel Mbangula’s bargain price is down to one reason
Botafogo fans were upset about the Igor Jesus fee as well so it’s clear that Evangelos Marinakis has quite the negotiating ability, but it’s all on Juventus as to why Mbangula is valued at such a low fee.
Since Igor Tudor became Juventus manager on the 23rd of March, Mbangula played just four minutes of Serie A football. This ousting has continued into the Club World Cup, too, where he has yet to feature.
Tudor’s predecessor Thiago Motta loved Mbangula when he was in charge of Juventus, handing the Belgian speedster his debut in what looked like a breakthrough campaign before the current boss arrived.
Therefore, it’s easy to see why Juve fans are so upset about losing Mbangula, who showed them his promise before being unexpectedly frozen out of the team.
