Wolves are understood to be keen to sign another striker this summer – but there may be bad news over one newly linked player.
Wolves are close to signing Fer Lopez, with the Spaniard due in for his medical after agreement with Celta Vigo was reached.
Personal terms were agreed days ago.
But he will not be the only attacking player to come in this summer, with another number 10 on the agenda and a central striker to compete and cover Jorgen Strand Larsen.
In the last 24 hours or so, it emerged from Brazil that Wolves were interested in Romulo Cardoso, who has impressed at Turkish club Goztepe.
But Wolves may have already received a blow in their pursuit.

Both Wolves and Nottingham Forest are said to have an interest in Romulo.
The 23-year-old scored 17 goals and made 10 assists in 33 appearances last season, so transfer speculation was always going to be inevitable.
But neither of these clubs are currently in pole position.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are currently in the driving seat for Romulo, having made him their top target to replace Benjamin Sesko, who continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.
Tavolieri reported on Tuesday morning: “RB Leipzig’s now pushing on Rômulo! Rasenballsport management considers Göztepe striker as 1st target if Benjamin Sesko leaves the club.
“Talks are already underway with player side and the Brazilian striker’s already keen on the move! Wait&See…”
Wolves may need to look at alternatives
From this information from Tavolieri, it seems any move for Romulo by Wolves could be fanciful.
The Brazilian could potentially be a great signing, having scored a lot of goals in the Turkish league in 2024/25 and being 6ft 4in tall.
But it sounds like he wants to join Leipzig, so Wolves may now need to look at alternatives.
So far this summer striker links have not been too plentiful.
But hopefully the newly restructured recruitment team will have a number of options they are considering, and it won’t be long until we see a new face.
