RYAN HARDIE has become Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson’s first new signing of the summer.
The striker has arrived at The Racecourse from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee, with the 28-year-old putting pen to paper on a deal until the end of the 2027-28 season
Born in Stranraer, Hardie started his career in Scotland with Rangers and he also had loan spells with Raith Rovers, St Mirren and Livingston during his time at Ibrox Stadium.
In July 2019, he joined League One outfit Blackpool for an undisclosed fee and then signed on loan for Plymouth in January 2020, spending the rest of the 2019–20 season with Argyle.
Hardie returned to Plymouth on loan for the 2020-21 campaign and he made the move permanent in January 2021.
Although Plymouth were relegated from the Championship last term, it was a notable campaign for Hardie.
As well as finishing leading scorer with 12 strikes in all competitions, the frontman scored his 100th career goal against West Bromwich Albion at Home Park on February 1.
Later that month, Hardie scored a penalty against Premier League champions Liverpool to knock them out of the FA Cup in the fourth round.
Over the last four seasons, Hardie hasn’t failed to hit double-figures in goals for Plymouth, netting 51 times in the league during that time.
The former Scottish youth international scored a total of 74 goals in 248 games for Argyle.
